How To Check If A Youtube Channel Is Monetized (New Method) 2023

As of November 17, 2023, YouTube has eliminated the "is_monetization_enabled" tag from the HTML of monetized channels.

From November 17, 2023, onward, to ascertain if a YouTube channel is monetized, visit the channel's homepage and take note of the following:

  1. "Join" Button: If there is a "Join" button enabling users to become members, the channel is monetized. This feature is exclusive to channels accepted into the YouTube Partner Program.
  2. Monetized Videos: Check for a substantial number of monetized videos (excluding Shorts!). A channel featuring such content is monetized.

It's important to be aware that channels of any size have the option to abstain from joining the YouTube Partner Program. A notable example is YouTuber Casey Neistat, who refrained from monetizing his channel until after accumulating 100 million views.

Therefore, surpassing 1,000 subscribers and having ads on a specific video does not guarantee the channel is monetized, although it is highly likely.

You can start your earning journey with YouTube by connecting with your fans and gain access to support forums and creator tools.  Eligibility for this are as follows:

  • 500 subscribers
  • 3 video uploads for the last 90 days and
  • 3,000 public watch hours for the last 365 days or
  • 3 million public Shorts views for the last 90 days

To earn via Youtube Ads the eligibility requirements are still the same.

  • 1000 subscribers and
  • 4,000 public watch hours for the last 365 days or
  • 3 million public Shorts views for the last 90 days

An easy way to know if the YouTube channel is monetized of not is by going to isthischannelmonetized.com add paste the YouTube channel URL.
